Metro Naga business chamber

for Bicol prospects
By Juan Escandor Jr.

With eyes trained on the prospects within the region, the Metro Naga Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) believes Bicolanos could create a spark in a five-day business event in Naga City.

PRIELA
Dubbed “1st Bicol Business Week,” the five-day event the MCCI will hold on Aug. 28-Sept. 2 at Naga City Civic Center aims to showcase and promote the Bicol’s best of businesses.

Nicolas Beda A. Priela, president of MCCI, said the occasion is expected to draw more than 2,000 participants, exhibitors and guests from all over the region.

“This enormous business activity will highlight the best of Bicol’s products, construction, ICT, investors, jobs agri-aqua exhibits and fairs. Conferences and forums will likewise be conducted simultaneously with other activities,” Priela revealed.

He said the design of the 1st Bicol Business Week is participatory with the participants interacting and exchange of ideas, concepts and insights freely flowing.

Priela said the business week with an apt theme “Make It Bicol” is held in cooperation of the Naga City government and the Canadian International Development Agency-Private Enterprise Accelerated Resource Linkages (Cida-Pearl2).

He said other agencies lending their support to the occasion include the Department of Trade and Industry, Department of Agriculture, Department of Science and Technology, Department of Labor and Employment, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry and United Architects of the Philippines.

Priela said the 1st Bicol Business Week, which they plan to hold every year hence, would be like a mini-exposition where participating business entities are provided venue to display their products, innovative skills and technology.

“The occasion is a good venue in promoting your products and the company as a whole. Likewise, this is the opportunity for you to meet your prospective business partners,” he added.
