Triviño, Avila represent Bicol in SSEAYP 2005

The search for Filipino delegates to the 32nd Ship for Southeast Asian Youth Program (SSEAYP) of the National Youth Commission (NYC) had finally ended. Twenty-eight (28) finalists had been selected through regional screening/interview at the Regional Offices of Civil Service Commission (CSC). Panel of interviewer were composed of representatives from (NYC), CSC, Department of Tourism, Department of Social Welfare and Development and SSEAYP Alumni Association.

The Ambassadors of Goodwill to represent the Bicol Region were Mr. Jyro B. Triviño and Ms. Rosie O. Avila. Mr. Trivinio, a 20 years old resident of Iriga City, is a fresh graduate of Business Management at Ateneo de Naga University. While, Ms. Avila, 26 years old native of Albay, is an Accountant of Department of Transportation & Communication – Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) Region V.

The delegates leaved the country this November to Japan, the first port of call, wherein they will be meeting more than 300 counterparts from Brunei Darussalam, Cambodian, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and Japan.

The SSEAYP is an annual cultural exchange program aimed to promote friendship and mutual understanding among the young people of the participating Southeast Asian countries and Japan. This two-month cruise provides avenues to broaden their international viewpoint and cultivate the spirit of international cooperation.
