Ateneo de Naga
holds talk on
Philippine National Situation
The Office of the President of the Ateneo de Naga University is
holding a lecture presentation on the “Philippine National
Situation” on July 29, 2005, Friday, 7 p.m. at the Arrupe
Convention Hall. The presentation, which aims to shed more light
to the political turmoil clouding our country today, is expected
to be attended by various members of the local government unit,
the mass media, the business and academic sectors of Naga City.
The main lecturer is Fr. Romeo J. Intengan, S.J.
Fr. Intengan, S.J. is the former Father Provincial of the Jesuits
in the Philippines from 1998-2004. A Doctor of Medicine, he was a
resident surgeon at the Philippine General Hospital Medical
Center, Manila before entering the Society of Jesus. He earned his
S.T.L. from the Universidad Pontificia, Comillas, Madrid, Spain
and has been Assistant Professor of Loyola School of Theology,
Ateneo de Manila University. Fr. Intengan was a well-known
personality in the popular social democratic movement during the
Martial Law era.
