DAET, Camarines Norte---Gov. Jesus Typoco Jr. has threatened to sue several radio commentators and a lawyer here over allegations aired in local radio stations that a warrant of arrest had been issued against him regarding an alleged failure to pay a businessman whom he reportedly owed P15 million.
In a press conference on Tuesday, Typoco clarified that the case his detractors were referring to was dismissed a long time ago. He said one ambitious politician was trying to resurrect the issue.
NO SUSPENSION ORDER. Camarines Norte Gov. Jesus Typoco explains his side before Daet newsmen.
“I have enough of your abuses and plots to malign the integrity of the people of Camarines Norte,” the governor warned during the press conference.
Typoco said that it is not true that there is a warrant of arrest signed by Associate Justice Edilberto Sandoval for his failure to pay a certain businessman named Idelfonso Macaraeg.
“I want to make it clear that I have not received a centavo or asked favor from Macaraeg. All the armchairs and garden tools that he delivered, in the hope that he would process the fund at the Department of Budget and Management, were already distributed and used by our barangay constituents and the children in the public schools,” the governor explained.
He added that the provincial government has not disbursed funds for the purchase so that it can never be said that any corrupt act took place.
Prior to Typoco’s press conference, the local radio stations Bombo Radyo DZVX and PBN-DZMD have claimed in their broadcasts that the governor may be suspended because of the alleged graft case he faces. Typoco categorically dismissed as lies.
He said he and his family though hurt can endure the false accusations against him. But he said he was more hurt when the name of the province was dragged in the false accusations.
