PASACAO BEACH FESTIVAL. Jeff Lindsey Lee Oliver (top photo) head of the Pasacao Municipal Tourism Office, tries his hand on the steering wheel of a freshly refurbished fiberglass-bottom boat during the launching last April 1 this year of “Daraw sa Pasacao Summer Beach Festival”, a program aimed at promoting the area as a top tourist destination. Pasacao, widely known as the “Summer Capital of Camarines Sur”, is a destination of choice for family excursions because it is safe, highly accessible and offers swimming areas that are relatively calm and clean. The presence of modern resorts which have begun to sprout in recent years as well as the availability of facilities such as the glass-bottom boat add to the variety of seashore and nature-oriented activities that can be done in Pasacao. The leisure craft, which can comfortably seat some 20 passengers, is one of the attractions offered as part of tour packages designed for local and foreign tourists. It is ideal for viewing marine life along the town’s marine reserves and dive spots. Lower photo shows a tense moment for volley belles as the ball hangs in the air for a split second in one of the elimination games during the “Daraw sa Pasacao Beach Volleyball Tournament”, sponsored by Coca-Cola as part of the local tourism drive.
