TOUCHING BASE WITH THE PEOPLE. The week before Christmas was a busy one for Camarines Sur Governor LRay Villafuerte as he preoccupied himself with making the rounds of municipalities heavily hit by typhoon Reming to get personal feedback from his constituents while at same time distribute some needed relief goods to alleviate their pain and cheer them up during the holidays. As the above photos depict (L-R). the governor traveled to Ragay town last December 19 accompanied by Board Members Warren Señar, Romulo Hernandez, and Domingo Briones where they distributed assorted food packs to 10,000 constituents coming from 38 barangays while last Dec. 20, Gov. LRay proceeded to Tinambac accompanied by Board Member Ferdinand Melgarejo and met by Vice Mayor Jose Belarmino where they also mingled with the crowd as they distributed 3,000 plus relief packs to residents of barangays Sogod, Salvacion, Filarca, La Purisima, San Isidro, San Pascual, Sta. Cruz, and Binalay, all in Tinambac, Camarines Sur. The governor plans to continue his barangay visitation program in the coming weeks as he wants to receive first hand information and much-needed data input for his rehabilitation plan for the province. PENETRATING THE JAPANESE IT INDUSTRY. These young professionals in their business attires comprise the batch of seven individuals who qualified and are now undergoing a training course in Nihongo’an indispensable requisite in their bid to work with a Japanese firm in Japan or elsewhere as AutoCAD Engineers. These IT professionals, who are mostly fresh graduates and constituents of Camarines Sur, were afforded assistance through the coordinating efforts of the Camarines Sur Employment Center (CSEC) as well as the Japanese Language Learning Center, a program of the Provincial Governmentof Cam Sur that offers free Nihongo courses to its constituents, under the direct supervision of Camarines Sur Governor LRay Villafuerte. Mr. Ritsou Kamei, Gen. Manager of Atmos Ltd. Co., which is a subsidiary of Meiritsu Engineering Co. Ltd. of Japan, came to personally conduct an evaluation of the trainees of which four (4) are slated for deployment to Japan on the 2nd or 3rd week of January, 2007 where lucrative opportunities await them in the Japanese IT industry.
