ROTARY WEEK CELEBRATION. The Rotary Club of Naga celebrates Rotary Day to commemorate more than a century of service and to promote awareness of Rotary. The group headed by Pres. Lynne Lucena and VP Pete Servano planted mahogany seedlings along the Almeda Highway assisted by representatives of ENRO. Joining this corner stone activity are PP Ronnie Ursua with beautiful wife Meriem, AG Freddy Sy, PP Aquiles Lo, Sec Neil Peñaflor, PRO Mike Pauig, Community Director Francis Dabu, Vocational Director Ampy Reyes, Youth Director Jun Villegas, Rtn Timmy Romero, Peping Favenir, Alex Cruz, Edwin Parañal, Venus Hünten, Filip Pio, Bob Sarmiento, Dan Diaz and Jovi Alvarez. The other activities were the donation of sewing machines to the Gualandi Formation Center for the Deaf for their vocational course and the installation of the Rotary 4-way Test Marker at the Plaza Quinse Martirez. Today is a good day to celebrate the camaraderie and fellowship of the brothers of RC Naga. Service Above Self, this our battle cry this Rotary Year 2005-2006. Onward we serve our beloved Naga City with no time to tarry nor linger because we will not fail our brothers.

CCCOM Audio Room for Podcasting. The audio was inaugurated at the office of Caceres Commission on Communications (CCCOM) last January 15, 2006 where audio (and video) productions for broadcasting and education of faith will be produced. Welcome to Archdiocese of Caceres Podcast! This is on-line broadcast at www.ceceres-naga.org the official website of the Archdiocese will pod cast mostly about the pastoral initiates of the Archdiocese of Caceres and anything which will assist online users to find God and the meaning in life. The pod cast will be produced by the CCCOM of the Archdiocese of Caceres, Naga City Philippines. Above photo shows Msgr. Juan Alarcon, Jr. led the blessing with CCCOM Director Fr. RIZAL SHRINE DESECRATED. Hawkers and vendors keep Dr. Jose Rizal y Mercado company at the National Hero Shrine located at Rizal Park, Naga City. The Pizal Park is being administered by the Provincial Government of Camarines Sur which has the perfunctory habit of leasing it as business stalls. A Provincial Board resolution approved last January 17 maintained that it is the Provincial Government’s “social service program of renting out spaces to small-scale entrepreneurs to help them in their livelihood.”

BREAKTHROUGH IN NUTRITION PROGRAM. Since its implementation in 60 barangays covering 20 municipalities of the province of Camarines Sur July last year, the LRay Vita Kidz feeding program has been gaining great strides in addressing malnutrition in children six years old and below. Assessment and evaluation made of the program as of November 2005 showed that already 60 % of the 3,538 target beneficiaries showed great improvement in their weight due to regular feeding and vitamin supplementation.

FARM TO MARKET ROADS – Municipal mayors, engineers and planning officers of 24 beneficiary towns of Camarines Sur conferred with provincial officials during the consultative meeting Friday, January 20 at the Camarines Sur Convention function room called by Governor LRay Villafuerte to thresh out the implementation of the INFRES (Infrastructure Rural Productivity Sector) Project, a P20 million participatory farm-to-market road development project to be funded by the provincial government and Asian Development Bank. The consultation presided by provincial acting general services officer Edsel Dimaiwat included town mayors Mel Gaite of Baao, Diones Belza of Buhi, Loreto Arevalo of Bombon, Gil Basmayor of Minalabac, Fidel Carido of Ocampo, Gimeno Imperial of Pamplona and Elmo Bombase of Ocampo.(GBC/DReyes)
