VICE MAYORS FROM SURIGAO VISIT NAGA. On a study and immersion tour, 29 vice-mayors from Surigao del Norte (Northern Mindanao) stayed in Naga for full two days to learn from the city government’s award-winning governance initiatives. Five M16 rifles, a Garand rifle, landmines, rifle grenades, hand grenades, a medical kit, and subversive documents were recovered by the 42nd Infantry Batallion after a heated crossfire with the New People’s Army in Hobo, Pasacao, Camarines Sur last July 9.

ON SOLID GROUND. This natural rock formation, surrounded by crystal clear waters is located near barangay Haponan in Caramoan, Camarines Sur. The town of Caramoan, where pristine white beaches abound, is among the areas in the province of Camarines Sur which are the targets of Governor LRay Villafuerte for massive infrastructure development to further improve the tourism potentials of the province. Some fishermen in the area decided to build this makeshift shelter atop the rock formation as temporary refuge either from the rain or from scorching heat of the sun. COMLAB is the USI Commerce Laboratory which houses a corporate office Simulation Room, a Manager’s Office cum Control Room, offices for the Night College (Entrepreneurship Course) and Day College, and offices for the CAC (College of Accountancy and Commerce) mini companies which are owned and managed by the students. The mini companies are: Combiz, Gibomi, Inc., NC Enterprise, and ACS. A Factory to complement the Laboratory has left the drawing board and will soon become a reality.
