The Our Lady
of Peñafrancia
novena set April 28 in Canada
TORONTO, ONTARIO, CANADA -The novena for the Our Lady of
Penafrancia was moved to April 28 (Friday) from April 21
(Saturday), according to Ms. Thelma Alvarez-Antazo, the church
activity coordinator and member of the board of the Bicol Canada,
Inc. (BCI).
Ms. Antazo said that the change of the novena date was due to the
busy religious activities of the Annunciation of the Blessed
Virgin of Mary Parish on April 21 (Friday).
She is reminding the devotees of the Our Lady of Penafrancia of
the change of the date of the novena from Aril 21 to 28.
The Annunciation Chruch is located at No. 3 Conbemere Drive
(corner Victoria Park and Ellesmere, Toronto, Ontario.
The province of Albay is the sponsor of the April 28 novena of the
Our Lady of Penafrancia.
The schedule of the next novena of the Our Lady of Penafrancia
including the sponsors are as follows:
May 26 - Nabua, Camarines Sur; June 16 - Naga City, Camarines Sur;
July 21 - Province of Catanduanes; August 18 - Iriga City,
Camarines Sur; and September 15 - Bicol Canada, Inc or the six
provinces of Albay, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Sorsogon,
Masbate and Catanduanes.
After the September 15 novena, the fluvial procession of Our Lady
of Penafrancia will be the next religious event of the Bicol
Canada, Inc.
In the meantime, Joseph Redoblado, president of the Bicol Canada,
Inc, is callingall the Bicolanos not only in Toronto but in other
neigbouring cities and towns in the province of Ontario and other
provinces of Canada to register with the BCI for inclusion in the
Bicol Directory for Canada in the next few months to come.
