Albay capitol employee is
medalist in
IDPA firing tournament
Antonio Carillo, 32, an employee from the Office of the Governor,
Albay, was a medallist for winning first-runner up, Novice ESP
category, in the 3-day 5th Quarter Defensive Tactical Pistol
Shooting Competition held at the firing range inside the
Provincial Capitol Complex at Cadlan, Pili, Camarines Sur on March
3,4 and 5 this year.
Carillo who is a member of a 15-member Gun Club in Ligao City said
that it was his first time to have joined said pistol competition,
practicing only for two months starting January his shooting forms
and skills.
Using a 9mm pistol, Carillo, in displaying his novice forms and
styles with the other participants during the competition as
representative of the province of Albay, performed his pistol
shooting at 15M, 10M, 7M and 5M distances firing ranges.
Sponsored by International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA) in
partnership with the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP),
Carillo scaled nine courses and stages using the IDPA rules to win
the first-runner medal.
In bringing honor to Albay, Carillo said in an interview that he
is going to continue harnessing and sharpening his shooting forms
and skills, citing his hope to grab a gold medal in the next
