Mercedes, Cam. Norte – A 52 year-old unemployed father of seven and resident of San Roque, Mercedes, Camarines Norte cut his organ then still unsatisfied burned it last May 4, 2006.

        Elmer Pandigua was immediately rushed to the Camarines Norte Provincial hospital by his wife.

        It was learned that at about 11:30 in the morning, an overly anxious Pandigua was having an altercation with his wife and told her he is going to cut his genital. But his wife jokingly answered why not.

        He, immediately thereafter, got a knife from the kitchen and sliced his genital. Upon seeing his severed genital on the floor, about four inches in length, he threw it on a burning garbage container.

        According to Dr. Edmundo Dizon, attending physician, about one inch was left of his organ. Elmer Pandigua will have difficulty in urinating and has to be brought to a urologist for further medical treatment, the doctor said.

        Pandigua was also learned to have caused commotion inside the hospital when he refused to be injected with dextrose and have been crying aloud that he wanted to die.

        The wife of Pandigua believes that his husband is desperate because he could not find a job to support his family.
