Camarines Sur set for Kaogma:
“The hottest festival in the World”

This early, Camarines Sur constituents, out of town visitors ,foreign tourists, vacationers, and the general public are all agog as they await Kaogma Festival, an annual array of breathtaking spectacle painstakingly planned and meticulously executed by a team of experts in events organization specifically commissioned and duly directed by no less than Gov. LRay Villafuerte in his incessant bid in promoting the province as a prime destination for major fun, tourism and business.

        The weeklong revelry will start with a send – off ceremony at the Capitol Grounds of the Tour of Camarines Sur 2006 which is now on its 9th year run and under Philcycling accreditation. It will be followed by the opening of the Motocross and the 4x4 Off-road challenges featuring the best riders of the region competing with their toughest rivals in a battle of agility and skills at the race tracks. It will soon be followed by the opening of the Camarines Sur Water Sports Complex which is undoubtedly a world-class sports facility for wakeboarding events. Exhibitions, to be performed by visiting rated international riders, will continue to be featured in the facility throughout the duration of the festivity.

        A grand and snake-like motorcade that will take off in Nabua shall officially signal the start of the Kaogma Festivals. After a short opening ceremony will commence the opening of the Hot Buys, Hot Foods Trade Fair that will showcase the premier and quality products of the province as well as the services and skills of Camarines Sur constituents. Day 1 will end with a concert by music idol Kitchie Nadal.

        Day 2 (May21) will feature the start of the lawn tennis competition and the awarding ceremonies of the Motocross and Off-road challenges. The Evening will be filled with unique music and danceable beat by a reggae group “Indio 1” collaborating with Manila-based band artist Karl Roy. Day 3 (May 22) will hold the boxing events dubbed “Buruntolan” while nighttime will usher in the holding of the grand finals of “Dalan sa Kalangitan” singing competition to be hosted by singing idol Christian Bautista. The night of Day 4 (May 23) will feature the Hot Kids Star Quest which will be hosted by the cast of Goin’ Bulilit with pint-size entertainer Dagul.

        Airsoft shooting trails and Practical shooting events open on the morning of day 5 (May 24) while Tour of Camarines Sur 2006 will end its 5-day run with an awarding ceremony in the afternoon. Dance Hotta Competition with Dance Diva Regine Tolentino and a Sugarfree concert will soon follow in the evening.

        Day 6 (May 25) will be highlighted by the presentation of a culture-enhancement show dubbed “Kulturang Bikolnon 2006” in the afternoon while the evening air will be filled with nerve-wracking and pounding sounds of various local bands in “Hot Banda Jam” with rock bands “Bamboo” and DRT.

        The much awaited Missn Kaogma Beauty Pageant will be unveiled in a production extravangaza in the evening of day 7 (May 26) of the celebration with matinee idol Luis Alandy as host.

        The culmination of the week-long celebration will be signaled by the Grand Parade in the afternoon of Day 8, May 27, where decorative floats and kinetic and colorful street dancers will strut their acrobatic and graceful dance steps in tune to festive music, to be followed by the 12-hour Kaogma Music Festival, a Woodstock – like band fest, the first – ever to happen in the province, to be participated in by various bands and music artists such as Brownman Revival, Chico Scie, Cynthia Alexander, Session Road, Imago, Sandwich, The Dawn, Pedicab, Radioactive Sago Project and Orange and Lemons.
