Joey Ayala, a Datu Bago awardee, which popularized such haunting songs as “Walang Hanggang Paalam”, “Karaniwang Tao”, “Magkabilaan” at “Wala Nang Tao sa Santa Filomena” was the guest artist during the Naga College Foundation’s grand launching celebration of the founder’s centennial and the institution’s 60th foundation anniversary last September 5, at the Plaza Quezon.
The celebration was highlighted by a concert featuring the NCF concert band, the NCF Cultural Arts Center, and Joey Ayala & Manong.
NCF President Dr. Carlo P. Villanueva underscores that the NCF community specifically chose Ayala because the school can relate very well to Ayala’s advocacy on respect and service for the common man – the same way that NCF has lived through 60 years… and still is. Moreover, Joey Ayala’s style of music, which combines Filipino ethnic instruments with modern pop music speaks well of this year’s celebration theme – “Honoring our Past. Claiming our Future”.
Sponsors for the said event include Trident Electronics Corporation, Coca Cola Philippines, Bonings Trading, Watercrest Pure Drinking Water, Lolo’s Bar, Jayson Marketing, S&J Hardware and Construction, Bodega Glassware and Golden 7 Bank.
