Retired PNP Director General Arthur C. Lomibao yesterday launched in Legazpi City, Albay the Free Calling Station inside the lobby of the Provincial Disaster Coordinating Council, a project of the Community Service Committee that he heads in the Rotary Club of Metro Cubao, District 3780 in coordination with the PNP Regional Office Command No. V, Provincial Government of Albay and the City Government of Legazpi.
The Free Calling Station, dubbed as Project Compassion, is meant to provide ways to help Albayanos who want to communicate with their loved ones abroad, especially those communities affected by the recent eruption of Mayon, Lomibao said.
“The free calling station is ready to connect to 32 countries with 5 of them opened to both landline and cellular communications for 24 hours all days in a week. These are USA, Singapore, Hongkong, China and Canada,” Lomibao explained.
The services are unlimited but if there are many callers, the call will be limited to 5 minutes per caller, Lomibao added, saying that a form will be accomplished through the help of a telephone operator assistant.
“Anybody can call but let’s give chance to others,” The retired police chief said.
He said the project was inspired by the invention of a gadget he brought that enable him unlimited access to his acquaintances overseas, then, he brought.
