Vice Mayors’ League of
CamSur elects new officers

PILI, Camarines Sur -- Last August 6, the new set of officers had been chosen and elected by the general membership of the Vice Mayor’s League of the Philippines - Camarines Sur Chapter in a conference called for at the DILG-Provincial Office, San Jose, Pili, Camarines Sur which was primarily officiated by no less than DILG Provincial Director Danton M. Vibar.

        The new set of officers elected by a majority vote were Vice Mayor Nathaniel Capucao of the municipality of Camaligan emerging as new President of the league. VM Venancio Regalado of the Canaman town was also elected Vice-president. VM Regalado is the outgoing president of the Vice Mayors’ League in CamSur.

        Vice Mayor Romy Salazar of Pili town was likewise elected secretary-general. VM Alfredo Gonzaga of Goa was elected as treasurer of the league unopposed, as well as VM Omar Mercurio of Buhi and VM Gerald Nolasco of Balatan, who run as Auditor and PRO respectively.

        As for the eight (8) Board of Directors mandated under the by-laws supposed to be elected by the League, only five (5) BOD were agreed upon by the members present to be elected and the remaining three (3) will be appointed by the newly elected chapter president on their first general meeting to be conducted later this month.

        Hence, the five newly-elected BODs were VMs Oscar Borja of Bombon, Manuel Bardonada of Presentacion, Bonifacio Billones of Bato, Joseph Ragay of San Fernando and Estrella Racelis of the municipality of Garchitorena, Camarines Sur.

        Relative to the election, Camarines Sur Governor LRay Villafuerte extended his congratulations to the newly elected officers of the league and announced that his administration is in full support of all the planned undertakings of the league’s provincial chapter and pledged to assist them in the implementation of the respective local legislature to deliver the most needed support for the constituents of the municipalities.

        In concurrence, the new chapter president also added that all the plans and proposed undertakings of the new leadership will not succeed unless the officers work in solidarity and full cooperation. Capucao stressed that he will do all his best within his authority as the new chapter president to reorganize and neutralize a leadership that shall be output-oriented for the next three years and onwards.
