Naga City -- Some 300 pupils in seven elementary schools in Naga City will now be spared from the inconvenience of leaky roofs and heat from direct sunlight with the completion of the repair of damaged roofings in seven public elementary schools by Task Force Reming – Naga.

Completed this week were the repairs of the roofing of school buildings in Panicuason Elementary School, Balatas Elementary School, Morada-Ramos Elementary School, Villa Grande Elementary School, and San Isidro Elementary School.
Repaired were the roofs of school buildings used as classrooms which were damaged by Typhoon Reming.
The repair works were undertaken by the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers – Naga City Chapter which is one of the key members of the private sector-led Typhoon Reming Relief and Rehabilitation Task Force, and by Aman Engineering owned by Engr. Emeterio Aman who, aside from being a member of PICE is also the president of the Metro Naga Chamber of Commerce and Industry and one of the vice chairs of Task Force Reming.
Fr. Nelson Tria, Task Force Reming chairperson, said the roof repairs were intended to speed up the normalization of classes in the city’s public schools which are not recipients of rehabilitation funds from the Department of Education.
The Task Force provided the construction materials out of the funds it generated from donations while engineering supervision and skilled labor were provided by PICE and by Aman Engineering, Engr. Don Santy, PICR-Naga president said. Labor were also provided by the local PTA and the principals of the recipient schools, he added.
Due for completion by next week are the damaged roofings of Naga Central School I and II, Abcede Elementary School, Sta. Cruz Elementary School and the Camarines Sur National High School which happens to be the largest secondary school in the province while construction materials are due to be turned over to the school officials of Tabuco Elementary School and the SPED Center..

Mayor Jesse Robredo expressed his appreciation to the efforts of the Task Force saying it was able to accomplish at much lower costs and in much shorter time projects crucial rehabilitation projects in the city.
The Task Force was created thru an executive order of Mayor Robredo with Fr. Tria as chair, Mr. Aping Olivan and Engr. Emeterio Aman as vice chairperson representing the Filipino Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Metro Naga Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
