IN RINCONADA
Trinidad, one more time

IRIGA CITY -– “Each dog has its own day,” erstwhile Camarines Sur Vice Governor Mariano “Anoy” Trinidad said in a huddle with local newsmen in a restaurant here the other week, as he bared his potical plans in the upcoming election.

Trinidad said that although he already lost several times during the past election for congressional post, he is still optimistic that he would emerge victorious to represent Rinconada District in Congress after the election.

He even cited as an example the political career of the late Governor Felix Alfelor Sr. who lost 8 times as gubernatorial candidate before finally making it to the capitol in the early part of the 70’s.

The former Vice Governor of the late Governor Armando Cledera said he has reasons to believe that victory will be on his side this time.

Aside from Trinidad, other contenders for the Congressional race in 4th District next polls are incumbent Felix Alfelor, Sr. and Vice Governor Salvio Fortuno.

Without enough source of campaign fund and political machinery to back him up, the still outspoken Septuagenarian said he would rather resort to a “man-to-man” approach during the campaign period, which he considers is more effective than speeches and reciting a prepared platform of government.

When asked what he would tell the people during his campaign, the old man quipped: “If you want Gloria to be impeached, vote for me, but if you want her to stay in power, vote Pacquiao and Morales, referring to Alfelor and Fortuno.”

As regards the conflict between 2nd District Congressman Luis Villafuerte and Governor L-Ray Villafuerte, Trinidad said the situation really made him happy.
