Hope for Masbate

I am a young man who has sincere care for my town and my country, but I failed to register myself in this upcoming election for some constraints. This shortcoming, though, never stops me in my intention to pray for good quality leaders in Masbate, my hometown.

I’ve been studying for almost a year now here in Naga City and I laud the progress that the government has done in this place. On a sad note, I can’t say the same for Masbate City. Political killings and the like landed on national newspapers, aired on radio, and on television. I keep asking myself, why can’t our leaders alleviate the plight of my townmates? We have brilliant people but they never get involved for fear of something.

I know a young man like me will always be dreaming of having a peaceful, beautiful, and progressive place. I hope this dream of mine will soon be a reality, a reality that can be experienced by every Masbateño.

I still hope someday it will come.
