REMEDY FOR TAX DELINQUENCY. The Provincial Government of Camarines Sur, thru its instrumentalities -- the Provincial Treasurer’s Office and the Provincial Assessor’s Office, availed anew of the remedy provided under the pertinent provisions of RA 7160 otherwise known as the Local Government Code in the collection of Real Property Taxes thru the conduct of a public auction of delinquent properties last November 6, 2007 at the lobby of the Provincial Capitol. The auction, participated by 29 municipalities wherein 216 parcels of land were offered for sale, was in furtherance of the measures directed by Gov. LRay Villafuerte to detach from much reliance and dependency on the internal revenue allotment. According to the latest tally, the amount totalling P2,073,998.04 have been generated out of the P7.4M total tax deliquency at the end of the public auction. CRFERNANDEZ/JCASTRO-MMEC
