Wazzup, General?

Retired Judge Maristela asked in his column a very important question: “What’s happening to our country, General?” Is this a rhetorical question or a foreboding of something is about to happen? Remember, that same question was asked by Vice President Emmanuel Pelaez to General Tomas Karingal in 1984. And a few days later, the General was also shot dead.

Is history about to repeat itself again?

Although, I firmly believe that nations are actually created by men who can lead and raise people with arms. Generals who can raise both arms and pen as well as talk to people, history treat them better. Old soldiers, they don’t die, they just fade away.
