Members of the Naga City Council for Women (NCCW), headed by Atty. Leni G. Robredo, caravanned to the Land O’Lakes Dairy Processing Plant in San Jose, Pili, Camarines Sur on July 31, 2008 to observe and learn more about good manufacturing practices of food processors. The study tour was held as the Council prepares for the establishment of a Common Service Facility which will cater to the needs of women and women-led microenterprises in the city.

The visit of OSHC in Metro Naga was made possible by the National Commission on the Role of Filipino Women (NCRFW) through its Gender-Responsive Economic Actions for the Transformation of Women (GREAT Women) Project which is being implemented by the Metro Naga Development Council in 8 pilot LGUs. This peculiar rock formation located off the picturesque coast of Barangay San Vicente in Caramoan, Camarines Sur that serves as a ready-made diving board for an avid swimmer is one of the countless attractions of Caramoan Peninsula where large-scale development initiatives of Governor LRay Villafuerte are promoting the area as an exotic tourism destination. The islet is the subject of the award-winning photo that won the top prize of the Exciting Camarines Sur Photo contest a few years ago. Set against the backdrop of majestic Mount Isarog, such a poignant vista of a hardworking farmer and his trusty carabao making ready his rice paddies for another cropping is a sight we need more of today when providing for food security has become an imperative concern. CamSur Governor LRay Villafuerte has launched various agricultural initiatives which provide incentives to farmers like the certified seed distribution program that have significantly contributed to making Camarines Sur among the top rice producing provinces in the country today.
