Gov. Typoco no show at world Art festival
DAET, Camarines Norte -- In the weeklong celebration of the 2nd World Art Experience held in Daet town from February 4 to 9, not even the shadow of Gov. Jesus “Atoy” Typoco was seen in the affair in spite of his presence here.
In the opening day at the Central Plaza Mall, participants from different provinces in the region who expected to see the governor were dismayed in finding Engr. Gerry Quinonez, the latter’s executive secretary, as spokesman instead.
On February 8, Typoco sent Provincial Administrator Napoleon Malaluan to the Regional Development Council to talk in his behalf with work in the office as excuse.
On February 9, closing of the fete, no Typoco appeared but it did not dampen the culmination that showed the town’s full preaparation for the attendees under the leadership of Mayor Tito S. Sarion.
In the gathering were Sen. Juan Miguel Zubiri, multi-awarded scriptwriter Ricky Lee, Nick de Ocampo with movie artists Chanda Romero and Gina Alajar, marketing expert and GK international volunteer Willy Arcilla, national artists Joey Velasco and Hermes Alegre, and healing priest Fr. Fenando Suarez.
Choirs, Bicol Heritage and Kaogma Festival, entertained the crowd on the last day.
