PROGRAM OFFICER (code: PO_SELuz)
This position provides leadership in facilitating and coordinating program development and project management on values-based holistic community development according to the five-year Strategic Plan of the Philippine Country Program. Based at the regional office in Naga City, the Program Officer, reporting to the Regional Program Manager, will be responsible for ensuring quality of technical content and management process of the projects in the field that are undertaken by partners.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, social science, veterinary medicine or other related field and preferably with relevant post-graduate degree; at least five (5) years experience working with development organizations in a similar capacity; considerable exposure on field-based holistic programs and participatory approaches; strong knowledge and experience on project management cycle and social mobilization; with knowledge on the theories and application of planning, monitoring and evaluation tools in development projects; and ability to network and build strong partnership with like-minded organizations.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
• Familiarity with basic issues associated with poverty, hunger, and environment.
• Strong leadership, facilitation, presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to foster and maintain a spirit of unity, teamwork, and cooperation among all staff – a team player.
• Ability to cooperate effectively with the Philippine program staff, other field personnel, project partners and like-minded organizations; sensitivity in working with multiple culture and beliefs.
• Proficient in using computer applications for word processing, spreadsheet, presentation tools and the internet.
• Ability to speak some regional languages is desirable.
• Ability and willingness to work with flexible schedule.
• Knowledge and experience with development work in other countries an asset.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively both local and international destinations.
