Bad weather starves people in 3 barangays

VINZONS,Camarines Norte -- Residents of three barangays in Calaguas Islands had been experiencing hunger for a week after bad weather cut off their said transportation.

This was what Fr. Francisco Gan, parish priest of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage in Barangay Banocboc told the Bicol Mail through a text message.

It is estimated that 6,000 residents Barangays Banocboc, Mangkawayan, and Pinagtigasan are to continue to suffer hunger should there be no improvement of the weather condition in said places for another week.

Reports reaching this correspondent claimed that stores had run out of food to sell and some businessmen were selling NFA rice at P30 a kilo.

The LGU of Vinzons could not send relief goods to the folks in said barangays due to the stormy weather.
