Skills training on VTTV launched

GOA, Camarines Sur -- The Village Technology sa TV Program (VTTV) of the TESDA-Camarines Sur Institute of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (CASIFMAS) launched its simultaneous telecast this January 2008 at PBC-NBN TV4 and Goa Cable TV 41 this town.

        Vocational School Superintendent Francisco M. Romanes of TESDA-CASIFMAS said the objective of the program is to bring technology lessons right at the homes of the people in the community thereby providing equity and access to technical-vocational education thru television.

        The program is also an avenue to supplement and sustain micro-entrepreneurial and livelihood capabilities.

        Technology lessons that are telecast every Wednesday, five to six o’clock in the afternoon include the following:

        Foods: Affordable Bakery products, Chicharon Making, Fish Deboning, Peanut, Root Crops, Coconut and Soya products, Fish and Meat Processing, Nutritional Snacks, Fruit and Vegetable Processing.

        Crafts: Fiberglass, Framing, Alternative Medicine, Bag and Basket Making.

        Chemical Products: Candle, Potpourri and Soap Making.

        Agri-business: Hog raising.

        The VTTV program is in partnership with the Partido Development Administration, based in Tigaon, Camarines Sur, the Local Government Unit of Goa and selected DepED secondary schools in Partido District.
