The FOAS or Felix Ordas Alfelor Cup is only on its second year that has transformed the family get-together or reunion into an eagerly anticipated annual event specially by the youngsters who look forward to the cash prizes given as award for their participation. A brain child of Mrs. Delicia Alfelor-Tibi, UNEP’s VP for Finance, the sporting event started with a motorcade around Iriga City and other places in Rinconada and ended up in UNEP Gymnasium where the games were played. The program started with the release of colored balloons.

Three teams were organized based on family ties with their own color coded shirts and dubbed as the yellow, blue and red teams. All three teams vied with each other in impressing the board of judges with their own style of delivery for the family cheer competition.
The volleyball and basketball games were the most hotly contested, while the shoot-the-ball individual category drew the most number of eager participants from all ages boys and girls hoping to earn their highest points and their corresponding rewards. It was a truly fun-filled memorable day for the second and third generation Alfelors, some coming to Iriga all the way from Manila for this once a year special occasion. DEA/OSS
