DAET, Camarines Norte -- A farmer was sentenced to 40 years of imprisonment for sexually abusing his l4-year old stepdaughter twice in this province.

        First to be convicted this 2008 by Judge Roberto A. Escaro, presiding judge of RTC Fifth Judicial Region, Branch 38-Daet, was Eustaquio Entico of San Lorenzo Ruiz town for the crime.

        The victim “Rina”, not her real name, was first raped in the grassy place in Barangay Iraya Sur, San Vicente town on May 8, l995, which was repeated on October l3, l995, in the same town. The last happened in July, 1996, in the town of Basud. All are covered by criminal cases: 9020, 9021, 9022, respectively.

        The court rejected the alibi of Entico that he was in the municipality of Daet working as a miller during the commission of the crime.

        It was learned from testimonies that “Rina” was being threatened to be killed every time she was raped if she would report the incident so the court was lenient of her not filing the complaint against the stepfather immediately.

        The litigations took l0 years to finish with the order that Entico pay P450,000 for damages to the victim who is now 26 years old.

        Another count of rape against Entico in July, 2006, was dismissed for lack of evidence. He is presently scheduled for transfer to the National Bilibid Prison.
