MOBILE PASSPORT SERVICE ATTHE CAPITOL. Hundreds once again crowded the lobby, passage halls, and stairways as the Camarines Sur Employment Center (CSEC) continues to receive applicants for new passports and those applying for renewal at the Mobile Passport Services at the Provincial Capitol, the only continuing passport servicing in the province conducted every 3rd Monday of the month. The introduction of machine-readable passports (MRPs) has caused a slight inconvenience to the applicants as stricter measures were implemented to meet international standards imposed especially for foreign travels. BEAMING GLOW OF HEALTH. The glowing smiles of pre-schoolers shown at top row photos all but demonstrate the effectiveness of the multi-faceted nutrition program intensified by Camarines Sur Governor LRay Villafuerte in the past few years that has dramatically gained inroads into the malnutrition problem in many underprivileged areas of the province. Bottom row, left, shows two children-beneficiaries of the LRay Vita Kidz eagerly digging into their bowls of nutritionally fortified food supplements and at right are vigorous and vibrant children of the town of Ocampo during the culminating ceremony of their nutrition program last August, 2007. THE “COASTAL” ROAD TO DEVELOPMENT. Braving the high seas, various social service agencies of the provincial government were instituted by Governor LRay Villafuerte to commence the Barangay Development Assistance Program --his brainchild program for the delivery of basic social services in the grassroots, reeled-off in the coastal town of Garchitorena, Camarines Sur last January 16 -- 18, 2008. Shown in photos (upper left), the program’s bannerhead with boxes of child care development materials and equipment for the 29 barangay Day Care recipients (upper right); distribution of 7,500 foodpacks and 2,200 assorted clothings, (middle left); thousands of corrugated iron sheets, marine plywoods, ordinary plywoods and nails granted to 445 shelter assistance beneficiaries; three-day consecutive medical mission with Dr. Carlos as team head conducting the check-up, and medicines given free to 1,131 patients (middle right, lower left photos), and manpower resource and employment services with Mr. Mel Palma rendering valuable assistance.
