Discarded fetus found

DAET,Camarines Norte -- A 7-month old fetus in the state of decomposition was found in the backyard of a boarding house at Purok 4, Carlos Segundo St., Barangay 3 here last Sunday afternoon, January 27, reports reaching the Bicol Mail said.

The fetus believed to have been thrown a week earlier was traced by one Jose Balce, 40, who was repairing the back of his house when he smelt a terribly foul decaying flesh from a plastic bag containing the fetus and entrails of fish.

Neighbors and the owner of the boarding house Noy Gache pointed to boarder Noemi Saavedra, an employee of Kelly Ellis, as the mother which the latter behemently denied when invited for questioning at the Daet Police Station.

Saavedra was released due to lack of evidence after the investigation.

The fetus was buried at the backyard of the apartment after it was blessed by a priest.
