Rotary Clubs Clean Water Project: Last July 26,2008 15 units of the Biosand Water Filters were recently installed for the residents in Barangay Atulayan, Sańgay, Camarines Sur, In attendance were President Jun Villegas of the RC Naga, President Airene Pasa, RC Goa-Partido, IPP Francis Dabu- Clean Water Project Chairman, and other member Rotarians The funding grant of the project comes from the Rotary Club of Brighton Beach, Melbourne Australia, through the aid of IDS Ruth Carlos Martinez.
USI Co-Hosts with CHED Consultative Conference for HEIs’. CHED Regional Director, Dominador P. Peralta, Jr. (leftmost) delivers his Declaration of Intent to keynote the Consultative Conference among Higher Education Institutions in the Province of Camarines, Naga City and Iriga City over the weekend. Co-sponsored by Universidad de Sta. Isabel (USI), the conference was held at the USI Audio-Visual Center and tackled vital updates on the state of Higher Education in this part of the region. It was an important dialogue among administrators in Camarines Sur and the two cities cited, threshing out vital issues on HEI’s major concerns to make them more effective and relevant in their roles in community and nation-building. In attendance were the Presidents, Vice-Presidents and Deans, Registrars, Scholarship Heads and NSTP Coordinators of the HEI’s.

PROVIDING ACCESS TO THE LATEST INNOVATION IN ACCOUNTING SOFTWARE. Not only did CamSur’s venture to BPO operations, as introduced by Gov. LRay Villafuerte who is a multi-awarded businessman himself, IT-based enterprises brought additional income to the provincial coffers, and provided jobs to at least 400 local IT professionals but has also afforded Bicolano IT professionals access to the latest innovations in accounting softwares. With the signing of the agreement between Sutherland, a BPO locator at the CamSur IT Park, Intuit, and the three most reputable universities in Camarines Sur, namely: University of Santa Isabel (USI), Ateneo de Naga University (AdeNU) and the University of Nueva Caceres (UNC), for the integration of the study of the number 1 accounting software in the U.S. into the curricula of the said schools, future IT graduates and professionals from the said institutions will readily find employment in companies using the software.
