Local and rated cyclists from all over the country braved the scorching heat of the sun outclassing each other for the penultimate mountain bike race Tour of Cam Sur Circuit Race 2008. Gov. GEODETIC ENGINEER’S CONTRIBUTION NOTED. Regional Executive Director Joselin Marcus Fragada of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources tells officers and members of the Geodetic Engineers Association of the Philippines, Inc. (GEPI) that the continuous partnership between the GEPI and DENR shall go on with time, adding “your contributions in our Department are truly appreciated.” Fragada was guest speaker during the GEPI’s 34th National Annual Directorate Meeting and Convention held June 5-7, 2008 at the Camarines Sur Watersports Complex in Pili, Camarines Sur. Noting the projects where the DENR and GEPI partnered have been successful, the DENR chief said such dynamic partnership will once again be proven this year as the GEPI will be involved in cadastral survey in the municipalities of Pasacao, Calabanga and Lagonoy; and Public Land Survey (by contract) in Libmanan, Goa, Caramoan and Canaman towns. Anti-poverty program advocacy – In compliance with the Presidential directive (Memorandum Circular 156) the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) spearheaded the advocacy for the adoption of Anti-Poverty brands in the respective information campaigns of the different government agencies/institutions. ADOPT-A-MOJON PROGRAM. Establishment of Geodetic Control Point (GCP) at the Camarines Sur Capitol Complex was one of the highlights of the 34th Annual Directorate Meeting and Convention of the Geodetic Engineers of the Philippines, Inc. (GEPI) held at the CamSur Convention Center last June 5-7 2008. The Adopt-A-Mojon Program was also successfully implemented with total of 149 memorandums of agreement (MOAs) entered into between the DENR and the mojon adopters from the LGUs and the academe.
