A WORLD BANK-GOP Supervision Mission arrived in Naga City last June 12, 2008 to meet with implementors of the Libmanan-Pulantuna Watershed Management Project (LPWMP). Maria, WB Financial Specialist during the meeting with DENR officials and chief executives of local government units within the area covered by the LPWMP held at the Villa Caceres Hotel. After the meeting, the World Bank-GOP mission visited Libmanan, Cabusao and the Bicol Natural Park where the exit conference was held on the same day (June 12)-(ASA)







BARANGAY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM AT PASACAO. Employees of the provincial government went barefoot as they trek the slippery uphill trails and cross a shallow river en route to Barangay San Antonio, Pasacao, Camarines Sur, among the sites of the Barangay Assistance Activities conducted by the composite team from the Provincial Health Office (PHO), Camarines Sur Security Unit (CSSU) and the Special Events Group (SEG). Nursing mothers and their suckling as well as other locals rushed to the sites to avail of the free medical services and supplies being provided by the team in pursuance of the standing mandate of Gov. LRay Villafuerte of providing emergency food assistance, medical and dental services to the needy constituents of the province. Other barangays visited by the team are Hobo, Antipolo, and Bagong Silang, all within the territory of Pasacao, Camarines Sur. At the end of the day the team was able to provide services to 765 constituents and their grateful families.







SUSTAINED BARANGAY ASSISTANCE. Gov. LRay Villafuerte’s Barangay Assistance Program reached the idyllic Island of Atulayan, Sagñay, Camarines Sur last June 17, 2008 where he led the distribution of food packs to some 262 beneficiaries, water containers, shelter kits, school bags and scholarships to all enrollees of Atulayan Elementary School as well as a motor-boat ambulance that was awarded to barangay officials by the governor. A medical and dental mission also benefited some 400 patients by the team from the Provincial Health Office (PHO).

NCF’s FUTURE NURSES. The Naga College Foundation’s 15th Capping and Candle Lighting Ceremony carrying this year’s theme: “Fostering care, compassion and commitment for nursing excellence” aims to produce 429 outstanding nurses. This year’s celebration was attended by more than 1,000 guests including the school’s administrators, faculty and staff together with the students’ parents. It was held last June 4, 2008 at Regent Hotel Convention Center, the newest and biggest convention center in the city.
