Dato Arroyo launches college scholarships

LIBMANAN, Camarines Sur --- The Office of Cong. Dato Arroyo of the first district of Camarines Sur is now accepting applicants for “Iskolar ni Dato” for the school year 2008-2009.

The free scholarship programs covers two categories: 1) free tuition scholarship for any course offered at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) Ragay, Camarines Sur campus, and 2) CHED-Special Study Grant Program for qualified students at any school accredited by the Commission on Higher Education.

The free college education scholarship program targets poor but deserving students who belong to the Top 10 high school graduate students and must not be over 30 years old.

Cong. Arroyo said education is important for our children to have a bright future. “With this, the government should prioritize programs for education to provide chances for the students to finish studying and have a good job especially for the youth with abilities but cannot enter college due to inability to pay college fees,” the presidential son-legislator said.

Interested applicants may visit the District Office of Congressman Dato Arroyo at Bgy. Libod, Libmanan, Camarines Sur or call 451-2156. Look for Bliss Gonzales.

Deadline for submission of application forms is on April 15, 2008.
