IRA SHEENA C. HOWARD is the first-ever batch valedictorian of Ateneo de Naga University (AdNU) who is from the university’s College of Education.
Howard, 21, is the daughter of Ramon E. Howard and Dr. Ma. Nenia Cadano-Howard, both from the academe, and is the outgoing president of AdNU’s Supreme Student Government.
She said four years ago as she entered college, she promised herself that she would do her best to become more than just an ‘ordinary student.’
Tomorrow, she will graduate cum laude and carry the University Mace as she leads almost 900 students who will be graduating from Ateneo de Naga University.
She says she plan to work and teach in Bicol first before she looks for ‘greener pasture’ and return afterwards.
Howard had been a Jose Rizal Model Student of the Philippines, and a delegate to Ayala Young Leader’s Congress.
She was an active member of AdNU’s Pathways Youth Group, which is among the first winners of Raul S. Roco Youth Achievement Awards. Jonas Cabiles Soltes
