WHAT is happening with the System? The system of transmitting to the GSIS our premium payments, for example, is now being questioned; and so with the system of posting such remittances by the GSIS.
The GSIS itself is a system but we cannot discern how the system now works. Yes, it has gone high-tech but employees have been complaining about the defects of the GSIS brought about by such electronic adventure. We, the Court Employees of the Regional Trial Court have petitioned the Honorable Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Reynato S. Puno regarding the court employees’ applications for loans with the GSIS. This was so because we had tried to apply for salary and optional policy loans, as well as consolidated loans with the GSIS in Naga City, but were denied due course because our respective policy contracts, including those of the employees of the Municipal Trial Courts in Naga City were considered as “TAGGED” by the System FOR FAILURE TO UPDATE REMITTANCES by our employer, the Supreme Court.
Our pay slips, however, will show that monthly deductions were accordingly accounted by our employer. When we went to the Supreme Court we were told that our dues were properly remitted, but the GSIS claimed otherwise.
With today’s economic crisis, we are in dire need of financial assistance that is why we sought the help of the honorable chief justice, who is considered as our father in the judiciary who cares for the welfare of his employees. We have called the attention of the GMA 7and ABS-CBN TV networks but it was only GMA 7 that responded. Perhaps, ABS-CBN is now isuffering from “GSIS fatigue”.
I challenge other government employees similarly situated, to better wake up lest we will no longer gain benefits from the System whose head thereon has the habit of buying expensive murals and paintings and is now dipping his finger on the controversial tiff with Meralco where GSIS is a major stockholder. Wake up!
JUN PAPA,
RTC Naga
