DAET, Camarines Norte---In a couple of nights, still unidentified thieves scoured two padlocked classrooms in Daet Elementary School in this town.
Teacher Jocelyn Teodoro reported to the town police that thieves broke into her classroom last Saturday and took away a DVD player, a desk fan, and cash amounting to P1, 500.
The suspects also forcibly entered the adjoining classroom of teacher Delia Torero and took away a DVD player.
Torero was stunned upon discovering on Monday morning that the thieves again ransacked her classroom the following day and took away a TV set and a loudspeaker unit. It was evident that the suspects also attempted to break into the other classrooms.
The culprits took away P40 thousand worth of money and belongings.
School Principal Elmer Jacobo bewailed the inability of the security guards of the school to ward off intruders, much more thieves.
In an interview with Bicol Mail, Senior Police Officer I Rodrigo Chico said that the suspects might have been the same persons who had been victimizing the school.
Meanwhile, the general parents-teachers association of Daet Elementary School is conducting separate investigation, and is planning to hold liable St. Martha Security Agency, which employs the present security guards of the school.
