PSMC street party features The Dawn

NAGA CITY --- As a way of thanking Bicolanos, the Naga-based North Bicol Area of San Miguel Corporation has lined up concerts by popular local and Manila-based bands to lend color and wholesome entertainment to visitors and residents as this city celebrates the annual Penafrancia festival.

Local bands are performing nightly starting at 7:00 p.m. Central Business District 2 from September 5 to 21. On September 20 at the same venue San Miguel Corporation will topbill Moonstar 88, to be interspersed with numbers by Bicol bands.

Albert Amaro, North Bicol Area Territory Sales Supervisor, said the street party at Avenue Square along Magsaysay Avenue here will proceed as scheduled on September 19, Thursday from 8:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. after they have coordinated with the PNP, the Public Safety Office, barangay tanods and private security personnel and bouncers to ensure the maintenance of peace and order in the activity area.

The most-sought-after band, Dawn, and two other bands from Naga and Manila will be the featured artists. They will dish out their hit songs and “Salamat” and “Iisang Bangka Tayo”, two of the most popular SMC singles composed and performed by the famous band.

Amaro said the Dawn’s music is mellow rock which is just enough for the fiesta celebration.

He said that the SMC concert is the only street party approved by the office of the city mayor after safety and security measures have been ensured. He explained that the concert will accommodate only 300 seating patrons, with an expected customer spillover that should not occupy more than half of the street fronting Avenue Square along Magsaysay Avenue. Tickets are sold at P60 each for two bottles of San Miguel beer.
