The Naga Historical Preservation Society (NHPS) is conducting a project called “Photographs and Memories.” The purpose of this innovative program is to encourage Nagueños to be aware of and celebrate Naga’s rich history through the use of photographs. There are many ways to gaze through the windows of the city’s past but the NHPS will collect treasured photos of the old families of Naga , buildings and locations which have been altered or converted to other uses. Just because a building is no longer present does not mean a historical event that took place in it can be forgotten. So , what are you waiting for ? Unleash the historian in you, show us your link to Naga’s history by bringing in old pictures of Naga and get a chance to win many fabulous prizes.

        Prizes will be awarded in the following categories:

        A. Oldest picture taken in Naga. B. Oldest picture of Nagueños. (The location where it was taken can be outside of Naga.) Please include the date or approximate date, location and names of people in the photo. C. Picture of greatest historical significance. Again, please include date or approximate date, location and names of people in the photo. Prizes are as follows:

         1st Prize = Php 3,000.00

         2nd Prize = Php 2,000.00

         3rd Prize = Php 1,000.00

        Consolation prizes will be given to all entrants who submitted photographs that did not win a prize. This contest is made possible through a grant by a generous donor to the Naga Historical Preservation Society. All original pictures will be handled with great care and returned after archival copies are made. Only original pictures are allowed.
