PEOPLE POWER VS POWER HIKE. Naga City Mayor Jesse Robredo whose final term expires on June 30, this year, explains the contents of an onerous contract signed by the directors of Casureco II and its GM with a power supplier that jacked up power rates by more than 100%. Incensed by the apparent lapse of judgment on the part of the power coop management, the ‘shocked’ consumers proceeded to the coop main office, but were met with a closed gate, to transmit copies of people’s resolutions which, among others, call for reasonable power bills and the resignation of GM Jane Barrameda and the members of the Board of Directors.
